Spek allows users to participate in practice mode and paid challenge modes. In paid modes, users may enter challenges with a stake, and outcomes are determined by challenge rules and player performance. Depending on challenge settings, payout logic may include winner takes all or draw handling.

Spek uses a hybrid content process: AI-assisted question generation plus human review before questions are published to live pools.
